The Denver Nuggets will get a major boost to their lineup on Wednesday night as guard Will Barton reportedly is set to return from a hamstring injury.
Barton has missed the Nuggets’ past 20 games with the injury, but he should be good to go for Game 2 against the Phoenix Suns. WynnBET has the Nuggets as 5.5-point underdogs in Game 2, and they are just +180 on the moneyline.
Denver has been razor thin at guard since losing star Jamal Murray to a torn ACL earlier this season.
The Nuggets were still able to get past the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the playoffs, but Austin Rivers, Monte Morris and Facundo Campazzo have been underwhelming to say the least as a playoff guard trio.
Barton appeared in 56 games for the Nuggets this season and averaged 12.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 42.6 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3.
WynnBET currently has Denver as a massive underdog to win the series at +320 odds, while Phoenix is a -400 favorite.
The four most likely outcomes of the series all have the Suns winning, with the Nuggets best chance coming in seven games at +650 odds.
Barton may not swing things completely in Denver’s favor, but he is certainly an upgrade. He may help the Nuggets steal a game in Phoenix and get some respect from Vegas in the process.
