At this point in time, the Houston Texans and the Detroit Lions are struggling. Both have cleaned their respective houses and tried to turn the page on a rebuild. However, both teams are bad, simple and plain.

The 2021 season isn't projected to be kind to either. WynnBET released the odds for Houston or Detroit to go winless in the NFL's newly-expanded season. Houston has +1500 to go winless this season, which is worse than Detroit’s odds at +2200.

WynnBET is also projecting Houston to finish last in the AFC South, with the odds of the Texans winning the division set at +1300. Their win total line also projects mediocrity. The Texans’ line is set at 4.5 wins with the under (-140) favored against the over (+115).

The Lions are also projected to have an abysmal year. The Lions’ win total line is set at 5.0 wins with -110 pick’em odds. Detroit has +2500 odds to win the NFC North which means they have a better chance at going winless than they do to win the division.

Things don't appear to be looking up in the immediate future for either one of these teams. The Lions traded Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Jared Goff. While the Rams are competing for a Super Bowl, Goff will once again be stuck in a rebuild.

The Texans still have uncertainty about their quarterback situation, after Deshaun Watson had over 20 sexual misconduct cases filed against him during the offseason.

Both teams have new coaches with less than desirable situations, and if they don’t do something quick, this season could be lost as soon as it begins.
