Apparently Matt Harvey didn’t get the memo that this is supposed to be the “Year of the Pitcher."

In a year where pitchers are putting up record-breaking numbers, Matt Harvey sports an ugly 6.62 ERA through his first 12 starts of the season for the Baltimore Orioles. To be fair, it is an improvement on his 11.57 ERA he had in 2020.

Harvey is set to get the start tonight for the Orioles when they host the New York Mets, and oddsmakers are predicting another rough outing for the 32-year old. Tajuan Walker will take the mound for the Mets.

WynnBET has the Mets set as -130 road favorites, and the Orioles are set as +110 underdogs at home. What’s even more intriguing, is they have the Mets team total set at 4.5 with the over favored at -130.

Vegas projecting the Mets to get at least five runs should be a slap in the face for Harvey, as New York boasts the second worst offense in Major League Baseball this season, averaging only 3.68 runs per game. The Mets have only surpassed 4.5 runs once in their past five games.

WynnBET also has player props posted for the game, and Harvey’s strikeout total is set at a measly 3.5.

Harvey has already faced the Mets once this season, and he gave up seven earned runs on eight hits through 4.1 innings pitched.

How is this guy still a starting pitcher in the Majors? He hasn’t had a respectable ERA since 2015 when he went 13-8 with a 2.71 ERA with the Mets!

Expect him to get lit up against his former team tonight.
