The Tennessee Titans are on a mission to win the AFC South, and the acquisition of Julio Jones could put them over the top.
Jones, who was acquired in a deal with the Atlanta Falcons, took the field at Titans camp on Thursday and he put on a show.
There’s no doubt that Jones is one of the NFL’s best wideouts when he’s healthy, and Vegas has taken his presence into account when evaluating the Titans’ chances to have some postseason success in 2021.
Before the Titans traded for Jones, WynnBET had their odds to win Super Bowl 56 set at +4000. Since then, Tennessee has shot up the odds list as WynnBET shifted the Titans Super Bowl odds to +2000. It’s a massive change, and the Titans now have the ninth-best odds in the NFL to win the title this coming season.
The Titans have also seen their win projection for this coming season change, as it’s set at 9.5 with the over being favorite at -150 odds. Before the deal, the Titans were projected just nine wins with the under as a -120 favorite.
Ryan Tannehill and the rest of the Titans offense will certainly see a boost this season from having an elite receiver like Jones on the outside, but the biggest concern will be his health.
Last season, Jones appeared in just nine games due to injuries, although he did make 51 catches for 771 yards and three scores in those games.
Jones has already shown that he is an elite-level player in his first day at camp, but the Titans are hoping that he will be the piece to take them over the top and turn them into the contenders for the title in the AFC.
