John Brown is in Las Vegas and he’s betting on black and silver. The former Bills receiver joined the Raiders following an injury-riddled 2020 season.  After achieving a 1,000 yard receiving year the last time he was healthy, Brown is looking to recapture that production in Vegas.

Brown is a welcomed edition to the Raiders, as Nelson Agholor, the team’s leading receiver, left for New England in the offseason. Now, the Raiders’ best receiver is tight end Darren Waller. With over 1,100 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2020, Waller is by far the best offensive weapon the Raiders have. The next two receivers, Hunter Renfrow and Henry Ruggs III are both looking for breakout seasons.

Renfrow played in all 16 games, but only started 6. His value as a slot receiver has potential, but he is still looking to fully establish himself. Ruggs III was drafted with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He underwhelmed in his rookie season, only catching 26 passes and mainly being used as a deep threat.

Brown is going to be the key for the Raiders’ offense. With those two expected to take a leap forward, Browns veteran leadership and overall ability will replace Agholor and take the Raiders’ offense to the next level. Las Vegas was 10th in the NFL in points per game last season. As the defense still tries to figure itself out, a potent offense will be needed.

The Raiders also added Kenyan Drake into their backfield. Drake believes the Raiders will have a “pick your poison offense", with himself, Brown, Waller, and Josh Jacobs.

WynnBET doesn’t believe the offense will be enough, however. The Raiders are a longshot to win the AFC West with +2000 odds.

Maybe John Brown is enough to get the Raiders into playoff position, however the odds are not in their favor.
