Chris Paul is getting healthy at the perfect time for the Phoenix Suns, and it may be time to consider them as a serious NBA Finals contender.

Paul, who suffered a shoulder injury in the first round against the Los Angeles Lakers, is at about 90 percent healthy, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes.

“Paul was about 80% healthy with that right shoulder contusion in the opening round series versus the Los Angeles Lakers, but now Paul is trending in the 90% region, league sources told Yahoo Sports,” Haynes wrote.

“Paul attributed his health to the prayers he’s been receiving from family and to the hands of the Suns medical staff.”

With Paul on the mend, he has an intriguing player prop in tonight’s Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets. Paul looked a lot healthier in Game 1, and he put up 21 points, 11 assists and six rebounds while shooting 8-for-14 from the field, his better shooting performance of the playoffs.

Tonight, WynnBET has Paul’s player prop for points set at just 15.5 points with the over (-116) as a slight favorite to the under (-104). Paul averaged 16.4 points per game during the regular season, and the 15.5 number seems to be Vegas’ reaction to Paul’s struggles in the first round.

While CP3 did not look like the same player against the Lakers, he played over 35 minutes in Game 1 against Denver and took the second-most shots he’s had in a game all postseason. Denver is razor thin at guard, and Paul took full advantage of that in Game 1.

Trust Paul to show that he’s improving with his health in Game 2 and easily surpass his modest point projection.
