Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams posted a cryptic tweet on Monday amidst the rumors that Rodgers could potentially sit out the season rather than play for the Packers in 2021.
Rodgers approved Adams’ sentiment as he liked the tweet in what seems like yet another dig at the Packers organization.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has been adamant that the organization won’t trade Rodgers, but the situation seems to be getting worse by the day.
The Denver Broncos, who have been rumored to be one of the suitors for Rodgers, have the same title odds as the Packers on WynnBET at +1800. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Denver seems to be the team most willing to make a major offer to pry Rodgers away from Green Bay.
Denver has a nice young core of pass catchers with Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and Noah Fant. While none of the weapons are of Adams’ caliber, they would still give Rodgers a lot to work with in an environment where he feels wanted.
Rodgers’ frustration stems from the Packers’ selection of quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Green Bay compounded the issue by cutting wide receiver Jake Kumerow who Rodgers had openly praised.
Now, the Packers may have to assure Rodgers that his future with the team is safe, if they want him to return. Whether that comes in the form of a new contract, more weapons on offense or a trade of Love, there isn’t an easy solution for Green Bay to repair this broken relationship.
